I am very much a gear junkie. I love getting my hands on the newest gear and testing it out and have been regularly reviewing various cameras and lenses for D-Photo magazine based here in New Zealand for over a year now.
Through the connections that I have developed from working with the magazine, I have established really good relationships with the various camera reps and can usually get my hands on just about any newly released piece of gear. One of the lenses that I have really wanted to test has been the Canon 200-400 L with a 1.4 teleconverter built in. It is not exactly brand new to the market. It has been out for a while now, but due to the hefty price tag, there are not that many around and I have managed to get my hands on it for a few weeks to put it through its paces. So keep an eye out for the next issue of D-Photo where there will be an in-depth review of the lens and I will also be posting some of my test shots here on the blog as well.
It is actually really good timing since I will be testing it out during the 2013 IRF White Water Rafting Championships being held here in Rotorua this week and next……Until then here is a few detail shots of the lens.
