This past weekend was really busy for me and next weekend is lining up to be even busier. On Saturday I spent the day out on the Tarawera river near Kawerau shooting the Under 19 and Under 23 IRF World Rafting Championship slalom racing. Here is one of the images I got from the racing using the Canon 200-400 1.4 teleconverter lens that I am currently testing…..
I will be back shooting the senior races next weekend on the Kaituna, Tarawera and Rangitaki rivers and will be posting more images from those events as well.
On Sunday, I got a ride up with a few Rotorua locals to visit Woodhill MTB park since they were having a big demo day there. It was strange doing a day trip up to Auckland to go mountain biking from Rotorua after spending nine years always heading down to Rotorua to for mountain biking. It was an impressive showing from the mountain bike companies as well as a good turn out on the day.
Here are a few shots that I got from that.
Always have an escape plan when shooting adventure sports. This rider landed quite close to where I was laying, but I knew where to go if things were to go wrong….
I will also be doing a few MTB shoots this week as well so be sure to check out my biking page for some new images there in the next week or so.
