I just got back from a quick trip to Raglan, one of the main surf centers of NZ. It was supposed to be a holiday to relax and have a bit of fun. But as usual, I spent more time shooting, scouting locations, and checking out the surf conditions than I did “relaxing”. Though the surf was not that good, I still managed to get a few good water shots and was glad that I lugged my long lens down there, even though I only shot a few frames with it. Though to most people, my wife included, it looked like work- taking photographs- getting up early to get the early morning light, lugging a big lens through the bush and driving for an hour to a deserted beach just to get a few shots- but to me it was the perfect holiday. I love exploring new places and the challenge of shooting a well known tourist area in a new way is fun to me. These are a few of the images I got on my holiday…..
